About Daytona Beach Shores
Daytona Beach Shores is a barrier island city of 5,179 residents at the 2020 census, running along the Atlantic with the Halifax River lagoon and the Intracoastal Waterway on its west side. Daytona Beach borders it to the north, Wilbur-by-the-Sea and Port Orange to the south. State Road A1A, Atlantic Avenue, is the road that serves it.
The city is barely under a square mile of land, and what sits on that land is mostly vertical. It was incorporated on April 22, 1960, and a heavy building program through the 1970s and 1980s put up the oceanfront high-rises that define it now.
It is a resort and retirement community built on tourism and the service industry, with no manufacturing base, and the inventory reflects that. This is a condominium market first, which makes it a different search from anywhere else in the county.
