Homestead Exemption

 

What Do I Need To Do?

All persons seeking homestead exemption must complete an origional application (Form DR 501)  Check with your local county property appraiser for filing instructions.

What Information Do I Need To Bring?

  • A recorded dee or tax bill with your name

  • Social Security number for each owner

  • Proof of Residency for all owners who occupy the property

  • Florida Driver's License and Florida Auto Tag Registration ( if you drive )

  • Florida Voter Regristration Card ( if registered to vote)

When Do I Apply?

The normal filing time for homestead begins January 1 and last through March 1.  All exemtion applications for that your must be filed by March 1.  You may pre-file for the following year from March 2 through December 31.
